I was very young, I think I was no more than five years old at the time. I still lived up north with my parents and for whatever reason we were taking a trip on a steam locomotive. Now I have been on tri-rails before, and subways, but never a steam train. It was huge! Lease to say, I also was very tiny at the time. I watched the steam come from the chimeny off the engine, heard the high pitch of the whistle blowing, and these things seemed pretty exciting at the moment. It was not until we started to board the train, that I looked and saw that the base and wheels that held up the train carts where seemingly a lot narrower than the cart itself. Not much thought into what I noticed, until the train began to move and pick up speed. All I remember is being terrified the whole ride. Since the carts where much wider than the wheels they were on, it made the train sway side to side. I watched every talk and move around the train like nothing was to be worried about, while I sat as still as possible next to my mother praying to myself that this train would not tip over, I was almost positive it was going to. I do not remember much of anything else during this train ride or what happened after. The only thing that has been imprinted in my memory from that day is how scared I was to be riding the train and just waiting for us to tip over.
