Next week, on March 8 at 4 PM EST, Norton Publishers will be hosting a talk with Joy Harjo. Not only will it be a fabulous way to study and prepare for the exam on Friday, but you can earn extra credit for attending (so long as you have not already completed a write-up of a live reading or lecture). The event is entirely virtual. For more information, and to register, go here:

I hope that you are having a restful break–and will return to class with renewed engagement.
As you are watching, think about connections from the ideas we discussed in class to the documentary. I am purposely leaving this discussion board more broad, so you can discuss a variety of elements of parole (e.g., conditions of release, hardships of parole, role of the parole officer, etc).
Write it up:
In 1-2 paragraphs describe:
Your reaction to the documentary
Describe at least 1 example from the documentary and how it relates to a topic we discussed in class (be specific)
Discuss your ideas on how we can make the process of parole/reentry more effective
Your post should be around 200-250 words (this should serve as a guideline, some students may need more or less space). While forums are a great space for conversation, please proof-read your post for any errors and to ensure general writing quality and professionalism
